Description
The LM567 is a highly stable Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) integrated circuit designed primarily as a tone decoder. Its main job is to “listen” for a specific frequency and drive its output low when that frequency is detected at its input.
Core Functionality
The chip features an internal oscillator and a quadrature phase detector. You set a “center frequency” using an external resistor and capacitor. When an input signal matches that frequency (within a narrow “bandwidth” you also define), the internal power switch triggers.
