Description
A 3mm Red LED is a standard miniature light-emitting diode often used as a small indicator light in devices like routers, toys, and custom electronics.
Pin Identification
The LED has two leads (legs) that must be connected in the correct direction to work.
-
Anode (+): The Longer Leg. Connect this to the positive side of your power source.
-
Cathode (-): The Shorter Leg. Connect this to the negative side (Ground).
-
Physical Hack: If the legs are already cut, look for a flat edge on the plastic rim of the LED. The pin on the side of the flat edge is always the Cathode (-).
