Description
The PC817 is a popular 4-pin Optocoupler (also known as an opto-isolator). Its primary job is to transfer an electrical signal between two isolated circuits using light.
This provides galvanic isolation, meaning there is no direct electrical connection between the input and the output, protecting sensitive components (like microcontrollers) from high voltages or noise on the load side.
